ELEMENT 3—5 warmly welcomes the experts of RHoPTec GmbH to its ranks. RHoPTec from Penig is a specialist in the development of plasma and ion beam technology. After the two companies had already worked together for a longer period of time, the full takeover took place on April 26, 2023.
ELEMENT 3—5 GmbH, Baesweiler, has acquired and merged all shares of RHoPTec GmbH, Penig, as of April 26, 2023. RHoPTec GmbH specializes in the development of ion beam and plasma sources – the heart of the low-temperature epitaxy of ELEMENT 3—5. Both companies have therefore been working together for an extended period of time before the takeover.
"For us as beam source developers, it was important to develop a perspective beyond pure development to series production, as this was increasingly demanded by our customers. This is perfectly achieved with the merger with ELEMENT 3—5," says Dr. Dirk Rost, founder and former managing director of RHoPTEec GmbH, describing one of the motivations for the merger. "For us as an equipment manufacturer, ion beam and plasma technology is an enormously important component. With the RHoPTec team, we now have this knowledge in-house to develop and implement sources tailored to our technology. In addition, we were able to "get to know" each other sufficiently through the previous cooperation and thus ensured that the teams also harmonize very well with each other on a personal level," Dr. Volker Sinhoff, Managing Director of ELEMENT 3—5 GmbH, also draws a positive conclusion of the takeover.
The site in Penig will continue to exist as a development site and will be further expanded.
